Greenlyte was founded in 2022 by serial entrepreneurs Florian Hildebrand and Dr. Niklas Friederichsen, alongside a seasoned direct air capture (DAC) expert Dr. Peter Behr. The company specializes in DAC and hydrogen technology, efficiently removing CO2 from the atmosphere using a liquid-sorbent solution, while also producing hydrogen as a valuable by-product.

Greenlyte’s latest joint project with Montreal-based carbon removal project developer Deep Sky is an example of the important work they are doing. As the world's first gigaton-scale carbon removal company, Deep Sky will operate Greenlyte’s DAC system as part of its Labs test facility. The system will be installed in 2025, leveraging the region's vast renewable hydroelectric energy reserves.
